Former SMC Commissioner Gazanfar Ali to Run as Independent in Upcoming Assembly Elections
Srinagar, Aug 26: Gazanfar Ali, the former Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), has announced his decision to contest the upcoming Assembly elections as an independent candidate.
Ali, who is widely recognized for his dedication, integrity, and efficiency, has held several senior positions throughout his distinguished career. His roles have included Deputy Commissioner, Director of Rural Development, Director of Handicrafts, Director of Social Welfare, Special Secretary to the Government in various departments, and Commissioner of SMC. He retired in 2020 as the Director General of Youth Services & Sports, Jammu & Kashmir.
Beyond his administrative achievements, Gazanfar Ali is a respected social influencer and political analyst with a strong following among both Shia and Sunni communities in the region. His charismatic leadership and energetic approach have left a significant impact on the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
