First phase for filing of nominations to DDC polls ended on Thursday in South kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Anantnag, 13 Nov: The first phase for filing of nominations to the District development councils (DDCs), Panchyat By-elections has ended on Thursday in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
As per reports out of 38 forms were issued at Pahalgam, 31 candidates have filed their nomination forms on Thursday at Pahalgam constituency. They all have filed their nomination for councilors in Pahalgam the official sources said.
They all belong to major parties including BJP, NC, PDP Congress, AAP, and Independent.
Similarly, in the Kokernag constituency,25 candidates have filed their nomination for sarpanch, 174 for panch, and 9 for DDC on Thursday, at kokernag constituency. These include nominations from all major national and local parties.
The first district development council elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir on December 1 and the poll process will be completed by December 24.
