FCS&CA Department Pulwama inspects many bakery shops in Tral, realised Rs.13700 as fine

Pulwama, April 12: Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department Pulwama on Monday inspected multiple bakery and confectionery shops in Tral town for selling commodities at exorbitant rates.
An official of the department said that they had received a complaint against different Bakery and confectionery shops of Sub District Tral for selling the commodity at exorbitant rates.
“A departmental team, comprising of TSO Tral B and officials of the District Enforcement squad, was as such constituted to visit the spot wherein the shop owners were found selling the bakery items at exorbitant rates in contravention to government-fixed rates,” the official said.
“Our team inspected more than a dozen bakery shops and realized Rs.13700 on spot, besides, destruction of expired items”, the official added.
He further added that area-wise teams, constituted by AD FCS CA Pulwama, have been directed to conduct such inspections in different areas of the district to implement rates of essential commodities fixed by the government in view of the Holy month of Ramadan.
The Department has asked people to co-operate with its officials so that Govt. fixed rates are enforced in the whole District.
