Drug Peddler arrested in Budgam;Contraband substance recovered

Budgam, 31st January 2023: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance for his possession.
During naka checking at Chewdara crossing one person on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by the police party. During preliminary questioning, the said person disclosed his name as *Tanveer Ahmad ganie S/O Mohd Yousuf ganie R/O Sadipora Beerwah* During his personal search, charas like powder weighing *1130 grams* was recovered from his posession.He has been arrested on spot.

Case FIR number *13/2023* under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law.
