Detention of PDP leaders in Anantnag unwarranted: CPI (M)
CPI (M) Secretary Ghulam Nabi Malik on Monday termed the detention of senior PDP leaders Sartaj Madni and Peerzada Mansoor Hussain by a Central agency in Anantnag as unwarranted and uncalled for and demanded their immediate release.
In a statement issued, the detentions have come just a day before the results of district development council (DDC) polls which is sheer political vendetta. Rule of law is being flouted with impunity in Jammu and Kashmir.
The need was to restore the democratic rights of people but instead, civil liberties are being curtailed which adds to the disillusionment of people.
