Budgam Police Arrested Drug Peddler and Recovered Contraband Substance Budgam, 19 April 2025

In a continued crackdown against the drug menace, Budgam Police arrested drug peddler in Budgam area and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A Police party of Police Station Budgam established a check point headed by ASI Ghulam Mohammad Tariq at Karipora Crossing near Railway Station Budgam, wherein they noticed one suspicious person who on seeing the Police party tried to flee from the spot but he was apprehended tactfully and during his search Heroin like substance weighing about 9.9 grams was recovered from his possession. Subsequently, he was arrested on the spot for further course of action as per law and during questioning he revealed his identity as Sajad Rafi Bhat S/o Rafiq Ahmad Bhat R/o Muqdam Mohallah Sheikpora Budgam.

Accordingly, a Case FIR No.83/2025 U/S 8/21 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been set into motion.
