Awantipora Police organises one day workshop on UAPA & NDPS Act at DPL Awantipora

Awantipora, 09 Nov: Awantipora Police in collaboration with Prosecution Department and Anti-Narcotics Task Force of Jammu and Kashmir (ANTF J&K) organised one day workshop on investigation related procedure and technicalities in NDPS and UA(P) Act at District Police Lines Awantipora.

The workshop was inaugurated by SSP Awantipora Shri Ajaz Ahmed Zargar-JKPS. The main speakers in this workshop were Shri Khursheed Ahmad Satari (Chief Prosecuting Officer) Special Public Prosecutor Anti Corruption Court Pulwama, Shri Najeeb Hussain Nahvi ( Chief Prosecuting Officer) Additional Public Prosecutor Pulwama, Shri Khursheed Ahmad Shah (Senior Public Prosecutor) Assistant Public Prosecutor CJM Court Pulwama. Shri Shashi Koul (Sr.PO PD Awantipora), Shri Mushtaq Ahmed (Inspector ANTF) and Shri Nissar Ahmed (Inspector ANTF).

The workshop was physically attended by SP DAR Awantipora , all SDPOs, SHOs. I/C PPs and other investigating officers of District Police Awantipora attended through virtual mode.

The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the investigative skills and to achieve higher conviction rates in UAPA and NDPS act cases. The workshop was organized to refine the investigative skills of investigating officers and to update their knowledge with latest techniques and standard operating procedure to be adopted during investigation of cases registered under UAPA and NDPS Act.

On this occasion, SSP Awantipora stressed upon the officers that quality disposal of crime is more important than quantitative disposal. The investigating officers must be acquainted with the law and legal procedure involved in the investigation of heinous crime. He also stressed upon investigating officers to reinvent themselves with the changing times and techniques.

Presentations were also given by officers of ANTF on various aspects of NDPS Act and related laws and procedures. The resource person of ANTF delivered detailed briefing over NDPS Act, PITNDPS and Financial Investigations etc.

At the end of workshop, SSP Awantipora presented mementos as token of gratitude to Guest Speakers.
