Awantipora Police arrests drug peddlers in Pampore

Awantipora, 02 September: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Pampore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police party of Police Station Pampore headed by SHO Pampore, Inspector Jazib Mohammad, under the supervision of SDPO Pampore Shri Krishan Rattan during naka checking at Patalbagh Pampore intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01H-0159. During search, 01 gram of Herion like substance, and 06.100 Kgms of Poppy Straw were recovered from their possession.

The drug peddlers have been identified as:
1. Manzoor ahmad Mir @Mann Tiger S/O Ab Khaliq Mir R/o Kadlabal Pampore
2. Aliyas Ahmad Khanday S/o Bashir Ahmad Khanday R/o Namblabal Pampore.

They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remains in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 110/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pampore and further investigation has been initiated.
