Anantnag Police seized 42 kgs of contraband substance
Anantnag: Police in Anantnag claimed to have seized forty two kilograms of contraband substance on Friday evening.
As per a press release, “Anantnag police received an information today evening through reliable sources that one Billal Ahmed Dar son of Abdul Gani Dar resident of Bonpora, Tulkhan has indulged in peddling of narcotic and psychotropic substances and accordingly has hoarded a large quantity of narcotic and psychotropic substances in his residential house.”
The press release reads that, “accordingly case under relevant sections of NDPS Act got registered in police station Bijbehara and investigation taken up. A search team comprising of SDPO Bijbehara, SHO Bijbehara, DO Sangam and Executive Magistrate Bijbehara was constituted who carried out the searches of the house. After searching the house 42 kgs of Charas like powder in two bags was recovered from the residential house of said Billal Ahmed Dar which was seized on spot. Further investigation in the instant case continues.”
Police said that their consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that they are making continuous efforts to keep the society free from the scourge of drug menace.
It is pertinent to mention here that in the year 2020 in its drive against drug menace, Anantnag Police had registered 101 cases under NDPS Act.
