J&K Central Non Gazetted Electrical Employees Union hold protest demonstration in Handwara
Handwara: Under the banner of J&K Central Non Gazetted Electrical Employees Union, district non-gazetted electrical employees Union of district Kupwara,Tehsil Handwara and Tehsil Langate held a protest demonstration at PDD Complex Handwara against the Electricity-Amendment Bill, 2020, privatization of power sector and new retirement circular of 22 yeas of service or 48 years of age.State President Mohd Afzal Bhat (Fatipori),State senior wise priesdent Gh.Moh ,Chairman Organization Rafiq Ah, District President Kupwara Moh Maqbool & Unit president Handwara Jaffar Lone were represented the sentiments of PDD non gazetted employees during the programme. The protesting employees and workers demanded immediate withdrawal of the order as the move is totally anti-society and anti-employee.The State Government has first unbundled the JK Power Development Department into various corporations and now the new circular of 22/48 age bar is totally anti-employee and anti-society move.State President Muhammad Afzal Bhat Fatehpuri said, that also consumer services affected due to handover of state establishments to corporate
companies.Now government is going to run another anti employee policies,we will fight aganist the rights of our employees and till death we will never compromise on any issue aganist anti employee.Union spokesman Umar Bhat said,that sixty thousand daily wagers have been engaged with various Government departments of the erstwhile State, and particularly more than 15000 daily wagers are engaged with the Power Development Department only, who have been awaiting regularization and are unpaid for several months.These daily wagers are working tirelessly in every calamity or situation, including in the current global pandemic COVID-19 situation. The state administration has time and again failed to provide a comprehensive policy to adjust these daily wagers in their respective departments as per government orders and SRO’s.
