ICDS workers promoted in 2018 as supervisors without salary from last two years

Anantnag, October 13: ICDS workers who were promoted by the ICDS department as supervisors in 2018 have still not received a salary from the last two years in south Kashmir’s Anantnag District.

According to supervisors, ‘despite carrying our duties efficiently in the department from the last 2 years the department has withheld our salaries from the year 2018 without any reason. The aggrieved employees alleged that the department is openly violating all the employee norms. They blamed the department for making them suffer and treating them worse than daily wagers whereas they are regular employees of the department.”

The Directorate of ICDS has ordered in 2018,” vide order No 1018 SMD of 2018 dated 5-09-2018 deployment of Anganwadi workers to the post of supervisor of District Anantnag. The department has ordered on the basis of the seniority list of (Matriculate) Anganwadi workers furnished by district programming officer ICDS Anantnag vide her letter No DPOK/ICDS/2018/5759-71 Dated 13-08-2018, the following matriculate Anganwadi workers of District Anantnag are hereby placed I/C Supervisor on a temporary basis pending clearance by DPC, or till the posts are filled by the proper procedure in terms of existing rules.” Order reveals.

The employees of the department have appealed the concerned authorities to look into the matter and release the pending salary of supervisors at the earliest.

Meanwhile, talking to the  Arising State Bilkeesa Wani Programming officer Anantnag said that we are scrutinizing and checking the records of the supervisors. Presently they all are working temporarily in charge supervisors of their respective fields and after DPC they have to provide grade pay. We are working on their case and we will produce their case to higher-ups soon, she said.
