BOPEE Cancels M.Sc Nursing Entrance Test, Inquiry Ordered; Fresh Exam on June 19
Srinagar, Jun 8 : The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has cancelled the Common Entrance Test for admission to M.Sc Nursing Courses-2026, which was conducted on Sunday, after discrepancies were detected in candidate-specific OMR answer sheets, while the board has ordered the inquiry.
According to details available with news agency JKNS, a mismatch was detected in candidate-specific OMR answer sheets minutes before the test was scheduled to begin at the SP College Centre in Srinagar.
The cancellation affected 513 candidates, including 348 aspirants in Srinagar and 165 in Jammu, causing inconvenience to students who had travelled from various districts to appear in the examination.
Following protests by candidates, BOPEE cancelled the examination across Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a notice issued by JKBOPEE, a copy of which lies with JKNS, the Board stated that mismatches were found in the OMR answer sheets during the conduct of the examination, prompting it to cancel the test in the interest of fairness and transparency.
BOPEE expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to candidates and announced that the entrance examination will now be conducted afresh on June 19, 2026 (Friday).
The Board further informed that a separate notification regarding the downloading of fresh admit cards will be issued shortly.
Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the official BOPEE website for updates and information related to the examination process.
The Board said all other terms and conditions shall remain unchanged as specified in the earlier notifications and notices issued in this regard.
On inquiry into the matter, JKBOPEE Chairperson Prof. Meenu Mahajan told JKNS that the Board held a meeting late on Sunday evening to discuss the issue and inquiry has been ordered.
“The Board had a meeting and accordingly enquiry committee has been constituted under the convenorship of Senior Member of the Board, Dr. Surinder, to report on the matter and fix responsibility within 15 days,” she said. (JKNS)
