New Delhi, May 5 :The Government of India (GOI) on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack on Fujairah that left three Indian nationals injured, asserting that the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians is unacceptable and calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) underlined the need for dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace and stability across West Asia, while emphasising the importance of safe and unimpeded navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law.
“The attack on Fujairah that resulted in injury to three Indian nationals is unacceptable,” an MEA spokesperson said.
“We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities and the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians. India continues to stand for dialogue and diplomacy to deal with the situation, so that peace and stability may be restored across West Asia,” the spokesperson added.
The MEA further stressed that free and unimpeded navigation and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz must be ensured, consistent with international legal norms.
“India stands ready to support all efforts for a peaceful resolution of issues,” the spokesperson said.
The three injured Indian nationals are being provided necessary medical assistance, official sources said.
