Terminated Professor Dr Abdul Bari Naik, Man who exposed several scams in South Kashmir

Anantnag: Dr. Abdul Bari Naik, a terminated professor from the Chidder Kulgam area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District, has exposed an extortion scam, leading to the filing of an FIR by the Anantnag police and the subsequent arrest of the accused.
Hailing from the village of Chidder in Kulgam district, Dr. Abdul Bari Naik has been exposing hundreds of scams on social media, particularly on Facebook, over the last several years. With a substantial following, his scam posts have garnered widespread attention and shares on social media platforms.
Recently, Dr. Abdul Bari Naik uncovered an extortion scam in Anantnag District, where an individual was deceiving and extorting money from people, including young girls and boys, illegally in South Kashmir. Naik revealed that hundreds of young individuals were ensnared in this scam, and he and his team successfully saved the lives of many from this trap.
Through his social media accounts, especially on Facebook, Naik continues to raise awareness about various scams, providing regular updates and exposing new fraudulent activities. In the past, Dr. Abdul Bari Naik has revealed scams such as fake degree certificates and forged ST, EWS, RBA certificates.
Speaking to Arising State, Dr. Abdul Bari Naik emphasized that their primary goal is to inform people about scams to increase awareness. He mentioned working as a team in this endeavor. Dr. Naik holds a PhD in Geography and another PhD in General Studies.
However, on Monday, the police announced the arrest of an individual involved in cheating and illegally extracting money from people in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.”
The police said that taking cognizance of social media reports and on the basis of a complaint received that an individual name with held has been cheating and intimidating people in order to illegally extort money from them, legal action has been initiated against the said person and case FIR No. 294/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Bijbehera. The person has been identified and arrested in the said case.
Citizens are requested to exercise appropriate caution while using internet and social media apps and in case of any grievance to approach the police directly for appropriate legal action rather than taking recourse to social media.
