Army organises Career Counselling Program for students at Tral & Awantipora

Pulwama (J&K): Indian Army Chinar Corps with Eagle & Angel Trust organized a comprehensive program on “Career Counselling and Communication Skills” under “Op Sadbhawana” at Tral. Students of various schools from Tral and Awantipora participated in the subject event at Government Higher Secondary School, Noorpoora and Government Higher Secondary School, Charsoo.

As per Army, “Over 650 students of eight different schools took active part in the Career Counselling and Communication Skills program. The event was organized over a period of three days, and primarily focused on guiding about career trajectories, students can choose in their life. It can be referred to as an exercise of exploring the emerging career avenues along with available choices of education in the future.”

“Apart from Career counselling students were also enlightened on contemporary topics especially related to Women Empowerment, Anti Drug Campaign and Disaster Management,” Army said.

Qualified and experienced speakers Capt Nawaz Bhat (Mercant Navy) Chief Program Officer – Civil Defence Program, Mr Rayees Ahmad (District employment Officer Pulwama), Mr Bilal Ahmad (District Career Counselling Officer, Pulwama), Mr Mohd Maqbool (Incharge SDRF Component Pulwama), Mr Riyaz Ahmad (Incharge SDRF Component Pulwama), Mr Gh Nabi (TOT SDRF Component Pulwama), Mr Tariq Ahmad (SDRF Component Pulwama) , Mr Tajamul Hussain (SDRF Component Pulwama), Mr Sameer Ahmad (SDRF Component Pulwama), Saif Ud Din (Senior Lecturer, Govt Higher Secondary School, Charsoo) and Md Yakub Allie (Lecturer, Govt Higher Secondary School, Charsoo) enlightened the students regarding various opportunities in academics as well as competitive fields.

Over the course of the three days, the renowned speakers took the students through the various opportunities available and career opportunities in the present context.

The students were deliberated on all available options they could pursue based on subject they choose, while they were urged not to make decision based on peer pressure.

At the end of the event, the student and staff who attended the same were thankful of the event organised as they are in a cross path where such direction and guidance is of utmost importance.

Army said that the event will go a long way in empowering the youth of region and will help them understand the importance of education and employment.

“These endeavors by the Army will not only aid the youth in achieving economic independence but also ensure the preservation of hard earned peace and tranquility in the region,” Army added.
