Kashmiri Fruit Vendors Released in Lucknow; Seized Dry Fruits Returned After UP Chief Minister’s Office Intervention: J&K Students Association

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association has taken up the matter of the harassment, detention and forced removal of Kashmiri vendors by the Municipal Corporation Lucknow with the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office.

In a statement, the Uttar Pradesh President of association Manzoor Ahmad said that the National convenor of association Nasir Khuehami, has spoken to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Advisor, Awanish Awasthi, and urged him for urgent intervention.

He has spoken Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Advisor Awanish Awasthi and urged him to take cognizance of this gory incident and ensure that they feel safe and secure. He emphasized the paramount importance of the safety and well-being of Kashmiri people, urging the Advisor to take cognizance of the incident and ensure their security, added Manzoor.

Responding to Khuehami’s request, Awasthi assured full cooperation from the Chief Minister’s office. He informed Khuehami that all vendors would need permission from municipal authorities in Lucknow in the near future. Khuehami added that all detained vendors have been released, and the seized dry fruits, arbitrarily loaded onto vehicles by municipal authorities, have been returned to the vendors. This positive development resulted from the swift intervention of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office.

Khuehami expressed gratitude for the prompt response of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Advisor Awanish Awasthi, who took cognizance of the situation and assured necessary action.
