Applicant filed complaint against General Manager and Managing body of the urban cooperative bank of Anantnag alleging  self-interests resulting in the loss of the bank

Anantnag: An applicant here in Anantnag district has filed a complaint against the managing board of the urban cooperative bank of Anantnag and alleged that the exploitation of the incompetent and nominated board by the General Manager/ CEO Managing Director of the urban cooperative Bank is getting his selfish interests which results in the malfunctioning and loss of the bank.

A copy of the complaint lying in the office of Arising state in which the applicant alleged that the strong indications that the General Manager/ CEO Managing Director of the urban cooperative Bank shall misuse the incompetent and nominated Managing Board of the Bank in extension of his team of office beyond 31-03-2023 at the cost of the vital interest of the Bank.

The ignorance of the nominated chairman and the other board members is being exploited by the acting general Manager/CEO for his personal selfish interests thereby causing damage to the healthy and the fair functioning of the bank through the process of exploitation of this incompetent and nominated Board of Management. reads Complaint.

Added that since 2005, no election for the Board of Management of the Bank has been conducted instead the previous Board Members and the chairman have been repeated on nomination basis ignoring the democratic process.

The applicant alleged that the present General Manager/CEO has been able to get one of his closet relatives appointed as an employee in the bank. This process of getting appointed his close relative in the bank extends to the deputy General Manager of the bank as well. Many other such bungling’s in the bank do not come to surface due to nominated and incompetent Board of Management.

There is an immediate need to take the serious note of the malpractices taking place in the bank due to continuation of the illegal and nominated board and exploitation and misuse of the same by the present General Manager/CEO for his selfish ends.

It is humbly request to take immediate and necessary steps to remove the chairman and nominated members and pass instructions to conduct fresh elections as soon as possible and issue order to restrict the current general Manager for getting extension beyond retirement as he has wrought havoc in the vital interest of the bank, reveals complaint.

Meanwhile talking to the Arising State General Manager Urban cooperative Bank Anantnag refutes the allegation and said that this is all lie, it is done only to defame the bank. since 2015 there has been no recruitment process taken place in the bank.

in year 2020, a case has been lodged by ACB against the recruitment process in the bank and the investigation of that case is under process, he said. added that as per the norms elections were held after three years for the new board. he said that I have got proper order from higher authorities for the extension, However the General Manager refused to show the order copy when asked to show the extension order.
