Two-day seminar on The Language and Methods of Mathematical Sciences concludes at IUST

Awantipora March 25: Two-day seminar on The Language and Methods of Mathematical Sciences started at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) concluded on Friday. The Seminar was organized by the Department of Mathematical Sciences, IUST. Several eminent mathematicians and statisticians of the country gave invited talks during this Seminar.

The proceedings of the first day began with the Head of the Department Prof. Fozia Qazi welcoming the invited speakers and participants. She gave a brief introduction of the Department and spoke of the important role face-to-face seminars and conferences play in sharing of ideas, learning from the experts, and creating networking opportunities for young scholars.

The speakers for the first day were Prof. Amin Sofi from JKIMS, Prof. Mausumi Bose from ISI Kolkata, Prof. Amber Habib from Shiv Nadar University and Prof. Shiv Kumar Kaushak from Delhi University.

Former Vice Chancellor Prof. Siddiq Wahid, Registrar IUST Prof. Naseer Iqbal and several other dignitaries attended the seminar. The second day witnessed two workshops for post graduate students on SPSS and R software by Prof. Suresh Kumar Sharma from Panjab University and Prof. Depeesh Bhati from Central University Rajasthan as well as an invited talk by Prof. Aquil Ahmed from Aligarh Muslim University.
