72 Republic Day celebrated across Anantnag District amid tight security arrangements

Anantnag: The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated in Kashmir on Tuesday amid tight security, like other parts of the UT of J&K, 72 republic day was celebrated with great fervor at district Anantnag.
The main function was held at District Police Lines (DPL) Anantnag where District Development commissioner Anantnag Anshul Garg presided over the function and unfurled the tricolor and addressed the participants.
District Commissioner Anantnag Anshul Garg took the salute at the march past after unfurling the national flag. Braving chilly weather conditions, contingents of police and other security forces took part in the parade after DC Anantnag was given the guard of honor.
He congratulated the newly elected 14 DDC members, besides the people of Anantnag for their active participation in the recently held DDC Elections and hoped that the elected members will play their vital role in the overall development of the district.
The DC on the occasion also highlighted the achievements of the district under various sectors including, Education, Healthcare, Communication, Agriculture & Allied Sectors, Rural Development, Road Connectivity, creation of Durable & sustainable assets.
The cultural wing of DIC Anantnag presented a colorful programme on the occasion.
He also addressed the function, witnessing cultural and sports programmes by young boys and girls
On the occasion, an award ceremony was also held and the frontline workers were awarded certificates and cash rewards.
Among others DIG south Kashmir, SSP Anantnag, commandants of CRPF, IRP, and officers from district administration were also present on the occasion.
A similar function was also held at sub-divisional and tehsil levels, where the concerned SDMS and Tehsildars unfurled the tricolor.
