3000 litres of illicit Kerosene recovered by Awantipora Police

Awantipora, 21 September: Jammu & Kashmir Police in Awantipora have recovered 3000 litres of illicit Kerosene during a raid on Monday.

An official told Arising State that acting on information about the illicit trade of subsidized kerosene fuel at village Khinbugh Lethpora, a police party from Police Station Awantipora raided the said village and recovered approximately 3000 (Three Thousand) litres of kerosene from a tanker bearing registration number JK02X-9426 and a truck bearing registration number JK05A-7626.

He said that the persons involved in the said illicit trade have been apprehended on the spot and the duo has been identified as Uzair Ahmad Ganie resident of Samboora Pampore Pulwama, and Faisal Ahmad Mir resident of Panzgam Kupwara Distt.

In a statement, police said that both the arrested persons have been booked under the relevant provisions of law covered by case FIR No. 130/2020 of Police Station Awantipora.

They added that further investigation is going on into the case.
