2 druggists shot at in Shopian, injured

Two persons who were running a chemist shop were injured after an attack by unknown gunmen at the Zainapora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday afternoon.

Reports said that the gunmen barged inside the chemist shop and fired upon Irfan Ahmad and Muzaffar Ahmad at Zainapora. In the incident, the duo suffered critical injuries.

A police officer confirmed the incident and said that the injured were taken to a nearby hospital from where doctors referred them to district hospital Anantnag in critical conditions.

Soon after the incident a joint team of army and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area to nab the assailants.
