Youth’s Mysterious Death Sparks Protests on Tral-Aripal Road; Authorities Assure Probe
Tral, June 24: Protests erupted along the Tral-Aripal road on Tuesday morning after the body of a youth was found under mysterious circumstances near his native village.
The deceased, identified as Surjeet Singh, a resident of Dharamgund area of Tral, was found dead near the outskirts of the village. The cause of death remains unclear, sparking outrage among locals.
Dozens of residents took to the streets, blocking the Tral-Aripal road and demanding a thorough investigation. Protesters alleged that the youth had been murdered and urged authorities to act swiftly.
In response, senior officials — including the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), and the Station House Officer (SHO) — arrived at the site and assured the protesters that a fair and transparent probe would be conducted into the incident.
Following these assurances, the protesters dispersed peacefully and normalcy was restored in the area.
