Young writer from Kupwara publishes first book

Kupwara, Nov 10: Inspired by globally acknowledged Allama Iqbal, a young 21-year-old boy Aamir Altaf from the frontier district of Kupwara has published his first book and is presently preparing for civil services.

Aamir, a graduate student from India’s premier educational institution, Aligarh Muslim University in political sciences, during the ongoing global pandemic has published his maiden book titled, “Walking away- The unfinished part of me.”

Talking to Arising State, the author, Aamir Altaf said that the writings of Dr. Sir Mohammad Iqbal have motivated him and this pandemic lockdown explored a writer within him also, while being indoors the entire book was completed.

Talking about the maiden book, Amir said that, walking away- the unfinished part of me is a story that is based on love, sacrifice, and long-distance relationships. “It tells us about how our society is dysfunctional and how our culture encourages us to be emotionless, he said. “It tells us about how our youth constantly looks for something deep and intimate without looking for the risks.”

He said the story depicts the life of a student, how he struggled in this turmoil region and what predicaments he faced during his student life.

The author said that globally known Sir Mohammad Iqbal and Paulo Coelho have highly inspired him.

He also said that the Indian politician Shashi Tharoor has also inspired and encouraged him with writing over the years.

Amir belongs to frontier most district Kupwara and is presently preparing for civil services besides being a writer, Amir over the years has featured in various regional newspapers with his opinion pieces on various issues.
