Wildlife dept captures bear in Saimoh Tral

Tral, 6 Nov: A black bear was captured alive by a team of wildlife in Tral sub division of South Kashmir on Saturday.
Witnesses said that the black bear was trapped in a cage at Saimoh village of Tral, which was installed by the wildlife team there.
The locals have thanked the wildlife team for their swift action in capturing the black bear.
One of the locals has said , “people particularly children were not able to move, as the bears were roaming around the village.”
He said that all other bears, present in the area, should be captured, so that people can heave a sigh of relief.
A wildlife official, Mohammad Yousuf has said that they received inputs about the presence of bear in Saimoh, following which a cage was installed.
He said that they kept apples in the cage, and managed to trap the bear today.
The official further said they have already captured 5 to 8 bears in Tral sub district, and are in the process to trap and capture more bears, from residential areas.
Meanwhile, the captured bear was set free in suitable habitat later on.
