Weak Western Disturbance to Bring Light Rain, Snow to J&K on Feb 10
Srinagar, February 9: A weak Western Disturbance is expected to affect Jammu and Kashmir on February 10, bringing light rain or snowfall to several areas, with moderate precipitation likely at isolated locations, meteorological officials said.
Another weak system is forecast around February 17. In addition, a brief spell of rain or snow may occur over some higher reaches on February 14.
Officials stated that any change in the intensity or trajectory of these systems will be communicated accordingly.
Apart from these brief disturbances, no significant rainfall or snowfall activity is anticipated for the remainder of February. The extended dry spell has raised concerns about a potential rainfall deficit for the month.
Meteorologists also warned that prolonged dry conditions could lead to early blooming of trees in the region, an indicator of shifting seasonal patterns.
