Voters in kupwara vote to see a new dawn in Kashmir, say want to defeat BJP in the valley

Kupwara, Dec 01: Standing in ques the voters especially the elderly people in border district Kupwara Tuesday voted for the change in leadership and are hopeful that the issues within the Kashmir valley are sorted early.
The voters believe that the votes in strength for a candidate in the fray for the first time can help the poor and work for prosperity and a change in the leadership at the grassroots level will bring in a required change.
Talking to the Arising State Correspondent, the voters at the two constituencies in the kupwara district said that their vote is for the change and upliftment of the poor class also the problems in the valley be eliminated after a change in the leadership.
Ghulam Ahmad Mir, 90-year-old, at the polling booth of Punzwa-A, said that that the vote he cast is to see the new dawn in the valley and kupwara in particular.
“I’m hopeful of seeing new dawn here in Kashmir and witness that poverty is eliminated”, says 90-year-old Ghulam Ahmad Mir.
Naseema Begum, holding her kid in the lap at Punzwa-A polling booth said that she is married for the last 16 years in the same village but the successive governments never bothered to help the poor class and no one came forward for any sort of help.
“Candidates contesting the DDC election are new faces and most importantly they are locals and all are helpful they’ll work for the local masses”, Naseema said.
Kulsoom a voter from the Ramhal constituency said that the DDC election is an opportunity for the people to choose a leader locally who will work to mitigate the problems of people in native areas.
Aijaz Ahmad Mir a voter from Reddi-Chowkibal said that apart from the development and prosperity the motive to vote is to send a loud and clear message to the ruling party.
“We want to send a loud and clear message to the BJP that no one in Kashmir is with them only because they’re involved in the violation of the rights”, Aijaz said.
He said that our voters are to defeat BJP here.
The voters said that they want a change in the grassroots level leadership so that matter remaining to the local level is mitigated we’ll on time and the sufferings of common masses are eliminated.
Waseem Ahmad Lone, another first-time voter from the Reddi-Chowkibal constituency said that he votes to beat the unending unemployment and prosperity in the valley.
“I am casting my vote for the first time only for development and to beat the mounting unemployment in the valley and kupwara in particular and hope that movement would work on the same after locals manage to vote a deserving candidate to power”, Waseem said.
Meanwhile, an eyewitness said that Covid-19 protocols were followed in letter and spirit across the two constituencies and health officials were also deployed for hand sanitizing and body temperature checking to avoid the transmission of the deadly virus.
A senior police official said that security agencies involved in the election duty were deployed across the two constituencies and the day passed without any untoward incident with voters in numbers casting their votes.
