Violation of Drugs and Cosmetics Act: Anantnag Drug Control Authority suspended license of 03 outlets in Shangus

Anantnag: To ensure that Schedule H1 drugs are dispensed to the general public as per the Rules of Drugs and Cosmetics Act, a team of Drug Control Officers under the supervision of Assistant Drug Controller Anantnag Miss Rumeesa Mohammad on Tuesday conducted special inspections in Shangus, Nowgam areas of Anantnag district.

During the drive, the Drug Control Authority Anantnag has suspended operation of 03 drug sale outlets in Pahloo Nowgam and Shangus area for the violation of different provisions of the Act.

The medical outlets whose shops were suspended are Hakeem Pharmacy Nowgam, Sehar Pharmacy Pahloo, and Alshafa Medical Store Pahloo Nowgam.

Official sources told to Arising State that the drug control team also taken samples of various categories of medicines for the purpose of test and analysis.

The authorities warned the pharma dealers to desist from unethical trade practices particularly with respect to the sale and purchase of psychotropic drugs from unregulated channels which are prone to be misused by the anti social elements.

However, on the directions of District Administration Anantnag the drug controller Authority has impressed upon the drug dealers to install high resolution cctv cameras and adopt computerised system of billing for maintenance of sale and purchase records for better surveillance.
