Anantnag 14, Nov: The residents of Achabal, Kanganhal are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD) in Anantnag for failing to provide adequate electricity in their area. Inhabitants of the village blocked the Achabal Kanganhal road to lodge their protest against the PDD dept. for inadequate and erratic power supply in the area.
A large number of protesters gathered and raised slogans against the state government and the administration for not providing a solution to their problem.
The residents of the areas told Arising state that the Power Development Department (PDD) is subjecting them to unscheduled power cuts in the bone-chilling cold.
”We are continuously pleading before the higher-ups in this regard, while the authorities earlier had assured them to rectify the problem at the earliest, but it only proved a hoax. They added that they are facing immense hardships due to the non-availability of electricity in the area. ”
The villagers threatened to hit the roads in protest against the PDD department if the unnecessary power cuts in the areas continue. They later appealed Chief Engineer of PDD to personally intervene in the matter and redress their genuine demands at the earliest.
