Tral: Water scarcity hits Zarihar-Machama, officials assure action

Tral, 19 Oct: The residents of Zarihar area in Machama village of Tral in South Kashmir are up in arms against Jal Shakti dept for failing to provide them with drinking water facility.

A group of women folk expressed resentment over the shortage of water supply in Zarihar area, and said that they have been facing immense hardships with each passing day.

In a video sent by the residents, the women of the area can be seen resenting the lack of water in their locality, who said that their back to back pleas are yet to be responded.

They said that not only water supply, the area is facing hardships, due to the dilapidated road, and disrupted electricity in the area.

The residents sought immediate intervention of higher ups into the matter, and demanded redressal of all their grievances.

DDC, member, Tral, Dr. Harbaksh Singh told Arising State that he talked to concerned AEE on phone and discussed the issue with him.

He further said that “AEE will be sending a team  tomorrow to Zarihar area to inquire the facts behind the grievances of people, before resolving the issues there.”
