Tral, 20 Dec: Inhabitants of the Waged village in Aripal tehsil of Tral sub-district of South Kashmir have been facing a tough time as they are gripped by an acute drinking water crisis for the last few days.
Amid chill, the residents move back and forth in search of water, with supply yet to be restored by the concerned officials.
The aggrieved residents told Arising State on the phone that the villagers have been facing hardships in absence of potable water for the last four days now, due to which they are dismayed.
They said that the water tank was sent to the village yesterday, but that failed to cater to the needs of people there, as the water provided was not sufficient.
The residents demanded immediate intervention of sub-district administration into the matter.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tral, SA Raina told Arising State that he already talked to the concerned AEE & JE and “came to know that minus night temperature has possibly caused a major block for the flow of water”.
Raina however assured that the water supply in the village will be resolved by tomorrow.
