Tral, 13 March: The residents of Aada-Mohalla in Gulab Bagh village of Tral sub-district in South Kashmir are irked over the apathetic attitude of the authorities in addressing their demands .

A group of aggrieved residents told Arising State that they have been facing hardships due to the frequent low voltage, dangling electricity transmission lines on the electric poles.

They said that while low-lying electric wires usually topple down from tilted poles, which can be dangerous for passersby, and an open invitation to any untoward.

The residents are worried and accuse officials of putting their lives at risk by not aligning the electricity transmission lines on the electric poles.

One of the locals, Feroz Ahmad told Arising State that the area has dozens of households with only one transformer available, due to which voltage remains very low.

Another local Mohammad Ramzan has said that the villagers pay electricity bills on time, despite that their grievances are not taken care of.

The residents demanded immediate intervention of concerned engineers and DC Pulwama into the matter.

Executive Engineer, Power Development Department (PDD), Awantipora, Altaf Ahmad told Arising State that he will look into the matter and will try his best to help the people there.
