Tral: Helpers to Supervisors of ICDS stage silent protest, demand release of salary

Tral, 26 May: The helpers of supervisors of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme in the Tral area of Pulwama district staged a silent protest demanding the release of all pending salaries.
On Wednesday afternoon, A group of “helpers to supervisors” assembled near Dilnag park in uptown Tral today and staged a sit-in here in support of their demands, including the release of three years pending salary.
One of the such helpers said that their monthly salary is 2500 rupees only, but govt has failed to release their salaries for three years, due to which workers are suffering.”
She said that all such helpers play an important role in Anganwadis and other departmental projects like pulse polio immunization programmes and Covid-19 duties, however, their demands are yet to be fulfilled.
Another helper said that she is facing hardships and rued that she “does laborer work” to feed her family.
The protesting helpers to supervisors have unanimously requested higher-ups to look into the matter and release all their pending salaries at the earliest.
