Tral: Heavy Snowfall blocks main roads, disrupts power, water supply

Tral, 4 Jan: The heavy snowfall which started a day back in Kashmir parts continues to give tough time to the people, as it has thrown life out of gear everywhere.
In South Kashmir’s Tral sub district, more than 1 feet snow is accumulated, due which roads are blocked, while power & water supply is disrupted.
A group of people here have said that they have been facing inconvenience in absence of power, water & snow clearance on the roads.
They said that people in upper reaches suffer badly, as they are totally disconnected with the other parts of the world, with no facility available.
The people sought immediate intervention of Sub District authorities and demanded restoration of power supply & clearance of snow on the roads, besides restoration of water supply in some areas.
Earlier, an official in the sub district has said that they are out on the ground, and are jointly trying their best to resolve the things along with Police.
He said that they have evacuated some patients as well, and appealed people to call on emergency numbers whenever needed.
Assistant Executive Engineer, R&B, Ishtiyaq Ahmad told Arising State that they started clearing the roads at 08 am today, and will be able to throw majority of roads open, till today evening.
