Three Shopian Athletes Bring Laurels, Bag Medals at National C’ships

Shopian, Dec 07: Three young champions from South Kashmir’s Shopian district have brought laurels to their native region for their outstanding achievement in recently held national championships of Wushu, Taekwondo and Table Tennis.

Mohammad Arham Parray has won a gold medal in the wushu championship in the National School Games held at Jammu. He became the first-ever Wushu athlete from District Shopian to achieve this remarkable feat.

Ayesha Binti Aamir has won the Bronze Medal at Sub Junior National Taekwondo Championship in a competition held at Panchkula Haryana. Zafeera Zahoor participated in Table tennis Nationals.

To boost the morale of the young athletes from the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today felicitated the three student athletes of district Shopian at Mini Secretariat, here.

The DC congratulated the champions and expressed the hope that they have a great career ahead.

The commitment needed for achieving the remarkable feats at this young age will inspire others to pursue sports, said Shahid at the felicitation function.
