Three millitants, woman killed in Batamaloo encounter,searches going on

Three unidentified militants and a woman were killed in a gunfight between government forces and militants in Batmaloo area of summer capital Srinagar.
Official sources said that three militants were killed in Batmaloo gunfight. “The firing has stopped and searches are underway in the area,” he said.
They said that a woman aged 45-years was also killed in the gunfight after she received bullet injuries and a Deputy commandant of 117 Bn of CRPF identified as Rahul Kumar suffered injuries. Kumar was soon evacuated to 92 Base hospital for treatment.
They identified the slain woman as Kousar Jan of Batmaloo stating that she was taken to SMHS hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
A police official said while the security men were conducting searches, they came under fire from militants hiding in the area in the early hours today.
The fire was returned by the troops and in the initial gunfight, a militant and a 45-year-woman Kounsar Reyaz were killed.
The woman, according to police, was killed in the cross-firing.
In a subsequent gunfight, three more militants were killed, a police official added wherein two paramilitary CRPF jawans, including an officer, were injured in the gunfight and evacuated to army hospital for specialized treatment.
The identity of slain militants and the outfit to which they owed allegiance was being ascertained.
Further, search operation in the area is underway.
