Tehsildar Boniyar, Police and locals destroyed cannabis in Boniyar
Wild cannabis plantation on a vast land was destroyed on Friday by a joint team of revenue, police and local youth in Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official said that the destruction of the cannabis plantation is being carried out in a bid to end the drug menace in the area with the help of local youth and civil society.
He said that the campaign to tackle the drug menace will continue and drug dealers will be dealt with strictly.
Tehsildar Boniyar Imran Ahmad, SHO Boniyar Tariq Ahmad Shah including other officials participated in the drive and congratulated the youth who took part in destroying of cannabis in their area.
“In our commitment towards drug-free society police station Boniyar with the help of youth today destroyed wild cannabis in Boniyar area,” SHO Tariq Ahmad said.
