TAC constituted for vetting DPR of “mid-term augmentation of J&K SDC” Project

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted a Technical Appraisal Committee (TAC) for vetting the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the project titled “Mid-Term Augmentation of J&K State Data Centre (SDC)” in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.In terms of S.O. 227 dated 09.07.2021 issued by the Finance Department, sanction has been accorded to the constitution of the TAC vide Government Order No. 118-JK (GAD) of 2026 dated 28.01.2026.

The Committee will be chaired by the Chief Executive Officer, JaKeGA, and will comprise the members including Director, NIELIT,State Informatics Officer, NIC, J&K,Representative from IIT Jammu (to be nominated by the Director, IIT Jammu),Representative from NIT Srinagar (to be nominated by the Director, NIT Srinagar),Under Secretary to the Government, Information Technology Department – Member Convener.As per the terms of reference, the Committee shall examine and comprehensively vet the DPR, covering technical, financial, administrative, legal, and operational aspects of the project. It will assess whether the objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and expected outcomes are clearly defined, realistic, and aligned with the approved policy framework and project requirements.

The TAC will also scrutinize the proposed technical architecture, design parameters, specifications, standards, interoperability, scalability, security provisions, and sustainability aspects, ensuring strict adherence to prevailing Government norms and standards.The Committee has been directed to submit its report to the Information Technology Department within 21 days from the date of issuance of the order. The Member Convener will coordinate with all members to ensure timely convening of meetings and expeditious appraisal of the DPR. The concerned department may also nominate a Nodal Officer well-versed with the project to facilitate the appraisal process.This initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to strengthening digital infrastructure and ensuring robust, secure, and scalable data centre services in Jammu and Kashmir.
