T20 Police Cricket tournament concludes in Awantipora

Awantipora: 02 Feb: In order to provide a platform to the talented youth and channelize their energy in positive manner in sports activities, a T20 Cricket Tournament was organized by Police Awantipora, which was inaugurated by SSP Awantipora Shri Mohd Yousif-JKPS.
The said tournament was organized under Civic Action Programme Of J&K Police.
On Wednesday, SSP Awantipora hosted the closing ceremony of Police Cricket Tournament T-20 also SDPO Awantipora, SDPO Pampore and Dy. SP DAR DPL Awantipora were present on closing ceremony.
Besides, a huge gathering of spectators including members of civil society were also present on the occasion.
The Police Cricket T-20 Tournament was participated by 12 teams from different parts of Police District Awantipora and tournament was played on knock out basis, among them two best teams viz; Meej Pampore and Crescent 11 Hariparigam dragged out 10 teams out from the league and speared their places in the final match.
Crescent 11 Hariparigam team won the final match by 30 runs. Mohd Younis was declared Man of the Match and Nadeem Ahmad was declared as man of the tournament for their brilliant performance.
SSP Awantipora said, Awantipora Police would provide all possible support for channelizing the energy of youth towards positive direction.
SSP Awantipora while interacting with the participating teams passed a message that youth has power for a change and they should use their energy in positive activities which will also spare youth from the menace of drugs as it not only ruins his life or family but society as well.
He also appreciated the efforts of Officers/Officials of Awantipora Police and whole organizing team for making this Cricket League possible in a best manner.
Later on SSP Awantipora distributed Cash prizes, Medals, trophies, momentous among participants.
A cash prize of RS 10,000/ was given to winning team & Rs 5000 to runner up team RS 2000 to Man of The tournament, Rs 1000 to Man of The match and a cricket bat to all the participating teams. Also sports kit was given to U/19 cricket team of Khrew.
