Strict lockdown to be re-imposed from today evening till July 27: Govt

Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday announced re-imposition of lockdown across Kashmir Valley from today till July 27 in wake of surge in Covid-19 caseloads and subsequent deaths.

Officials said that the strict lockdown will be re-imposed from today i.e July 22 till July 27 in order to prevent the spread of the pandemic. “Further decisions whether to continue lockdown or announce relaxation will be taken after reviewing the situation on the ground”, the official said.

It is pertinent to mention that since authorities announced the lifting of curbs, there has been a huge spike in Covid-19 positive cases and subsequent deaths which caused a scare among the public. Over 15,000 samples have been tested positive so far with 260 plus deaths.
