SSP Traffic conducts special Drive at Kokernag Anantnag
More than 80 violators were penalised, Rs 35000 fine collected from violators on spot

Anantnag: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh reviewed the on road traffic management and enforcement system here in South Kashmir’s Anantnag District on Thursday.
The SSP conducted a special drive to contain accidents on the NH-244 in Anantnag Kokernag road.
During the visit, a special drive was conducted on NH-244 in Kokernag area against the traffic violators, especially against Overloading in passenger vehicles.
More than 80 violators were penalised under relevant provisions of MV act during the drive, and around Rs 35000 fine collected from violators, on the spot.
The SSP said that a special drive was conducted to instil awareness among the people and deter traffic violators from breaching the set rules. He said the drive was conducted against violators, particularly overloading vechiles, which are the big challenge before Traffic Police at the moment.
Later SSP traffic along with DySP traffic Anantnag and DTI also visited traffic check point at Daksum Kokernag and directed the officials to strictly adhere to the cut off timings of vehicles towards Sinthan top and Kishtwar.
