Srinagar militant attack leaves two cops dead, injures to another
Two policemen were killed and another injured as militants attacked a police party in Nowgam Bypass in Central Kashmir district on Friday an official said.
He said that the militants fired upon the police party near Nowgam, injuring three cops who were shifted to a nearby police hospital for treatment were two succumbs to their injuries.
He identified the slain duo as Ishfaq Ayoub and Fayaz Ahmad, both from IRP’s 20 batallion. While Ayoub had bullet wounds on the right side of the chest and lower limb, Fayaz had injuries on the right thigh, he said.
The injured has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf and he has bullet injuries on the right hand.
IGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar also confirmed the killings of two cops in the attack and injures to another.
