Pampore: Shaar-Shaali village of Pampore in Pulwama district has been facing the worst kind of neglect from all the quarters. Be it road connectivity, medical facility, or even freshwater bodies. The villagers ,at the receiving end, have access to none.

The villagers, expressing their resentment, told Arising State correspondent that the village is a ‘tourist spot’ however, lacks infrastructural facilities.

They said that the main road that connects Shaar-Shaali village with Pampore town and Srinagar-Jammu national highway, is in a dilapidated condition, due to which drivers, as well as pedestrians, face hardships.

One of the villagers said that whenever it rains, the road gets inundated, following which it becomes almost impossible for locals to walk on it. He further added that repeated pleas to authorities only fell on deaf ears.

Pertinently, the village has some water ponds, which have turned pathetic now after ‘facing official negligence’ for years.

‘These ponds once had fresh ,clean water was now chocking with garbage , shrinking day by day, and may disappear someday, if not taken care of, which is a matter of grave concern”, explained one of the villagers.

Another resident Ashiq Ahmad said that the sub-health centre in the village was upgraded to new type of primary health centre (NTPHC) but, facilities were not provided to it.

He said that locals are not getting any sort of benefit from it as “only title was changed from Sub Health Centre to New type primary health centre (NTPHC), with no up-gradation  facilities.”

The residents sought immediate intervention of authorities and expedite the process of progress in the village.
