Tral ,Aug 20 : In a significant political shift, Dr. Harbaksh Singh, a senior leader and DDC member from Tral, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Awami Itehad Party (AIP). Speaking to reporters after his decision, Singh clarified that his departure from the PDP was not due to being denied a mandate but stemmed from a lack of consultation despite his 14 years of dedicated service to the party. He expressed dissatisfaction with the PDP’s approach, particularly their neglect of the minority community and the party’s family-centric policies. Singh voiced hope that the AIP would not repeat the mistakes of both the PDP and NC, emphasizing his continued commitment to working for the welfare of the people, regardless of his party affiliation.
This development comes as assembly elections are set to begin next month, adding a new dynamic to the political landscape in the region.
