Budgam, Oct 15 : Abdul Hamid Bith, a resident of Mugipathri Khansahib alleged that department of forest has violated the norms and orders of honorable court as they illegally have used his truck which is still under seizure order.

Abdul Hamid talking to local news agency said that his truck was seized by J&K police while he was hoarding his truck with stones. The police seized the truck and shifted it to forest department where they designated his truck with case of carrying forest wood.

He further said that following the incident, he filed a case in court and the honorable Court issued a seizure order for his truck till the case is resolved. But today he saw his truck in a private workshop which is clearly a violation of the court order, he said.

He added ,’ he has a question as how did they brought his truck to a private workshop ,if it is under seizure order and why are they running it for private work’?.

“I demand an immediate probe in this matter as the forest department has taken my vehicle illegally and are using  my truck for their individual interests”, he added.

Meanwhile, when DFO Budgam was contacted, he said , ‘the truck was loaded with illegal timber and by the confiscation of authorized Judge the truck had been allotted to the forest department as per laws of forest department’.

Whenever a vehicle gets seized with illegal timber, the vehicle gets allotted to the forest department as per rules, he said.

The vehicle is a property of forest department after the illegal smuggling and the forest department can install it anywhere as per the orders of authorized officer, he added. (KNS)
