Security agencies had input about IED in Shopian village: IGP Kumar

Inspector-General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Sunday said that security forces had already received input about the planting of IED in the Turkawangam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

“We had an input of IED,when Security forces went to detect it, militants exploded it from a distance,” the IGP said.

However, he said there was no damage in the incident. A police official said that the area has been cordoned off to nab the culprits.

Earlier, militants had triggered the IED near an army Casper vehicle.
