Sajad Lone released from house detention

Authorities on Friday released Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone, who was under “preventive detention” since August 5, 2019.

According to sources, PC in a tweet said “J&K Peoples Conference Chairman Mr. Sajad Gani Lone has been officially released after completing 360 days in detention”.

Lone, meanwhile, also took micro-blogging site Twitter and said, “Finally 5 days short of a year I have been officially informed that I am a free man. So much has changed. So have I. Jail was not a new experience. Earlier ones were harsh with usual doses of physical torture. But this was psychologically draining. Much to share hopefully soon”.

However reliable sources said that other incarcerated mainstream politicians will also be released ahead of Eid ul Adha.
