Ruhullah Mehdi: Reservation Policy to Be Rationalized Without Infringing Rights
Srinagar, Nov 22: National Conference senior leader and Member of Parliament Syed Aga Ruhullah Mehdi assured that the reservation policy under consideration would focus on rationalization without compromising anyone’s rights.
Speaking to reporters after visiting fire-affected families in Abi Gurpora, Dal Lake, Ruhullah said, “The government is addressing issues within its clear jurisdiction. The reservation policy will not deprive anyone of their rights but will aim to ensure fairness and rationality.”
Ruhullah noted that the rules of business document had been submitted to the Lieutenant Governor’s office and that decisions would follow once feedback is received.
Accompanied by MLAs Tanvir Sadiq and Farooq Ahmad Shah from Zadibal and Gulmarg constituencies, Ruhullah also emphasized the government’s commitment to rehabilitate 26 families who lost their homes in a devastating fire.
“Efforts are being made by the government and concerned MLA to ensure the affected families are provided with shelter and support before the onset of winter,” he stated.
Ruhullah further assured support for those demanding reservation policy reforms, pledging to advocate their concerns directly with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
