RDD Anantnag floats HC orders by constructing building for office on bank of ‘Bringi Nallah’

Anantnag: In a grass violation of High Court orders, the Rural Development department Anantnag has violated the High court orders and constructed a building for office purpose on the bank of ‘Bringi Nallah’ here in Banginowgam area of south kashmir’s Anantnag district.

According to official sources, The Rural Development department Anantnag has violated the High court orders and constructed a building for office purposes within the 100 meters on the bank of ‘Bringi Nallah’ in Anantnag district. the department was constructing the boundary wall for the office. However, the flood control department Anantnag has Raised Concerns and stopped the construction work of boundary wall.

The Rural development department was functioning in a building at KP road Anantnag and were shifted from KP road to Banginowgam area few days ago, sources said, adding that the high court has already banned the construction within 100 meters from the bank of the river/Nallah.

“If any new construction is sought to be raised, then the Deputy Commissioner and the Chief Engineer would be fully entitled to demolish the same without any show cause notice, sources further said.

However, Arising state received an order copy of District commissioner office Anantnag Wide order No DCA/SQ/23/F/C/4731-45 dated 25-07-2023, which reveals that as per the directions of Hon’ble High court, no illegal construction should take place with hundred meters from the banks of Nallah. In this connection you are requested to examine the matters and furnish action taken report within one week positively for the kind perusal of the Divisional commissioner/ deputy commissioner, reads order.

Meanwhile, talking to Arising State, Nisar Ahmad, AEE flood control department Anantnag said that the Department had already constructed a building for office purpose on the Bringi Nallah in Banginowgam area few years back, however presently they were constructing the boundary wall for the office which violates the norms of High court orders.

They were constructing the boundary wall without consent NOC from the flood control department Anantnag and we have stopped the work on boundary wall of the department, he said.
