Pulwama: The residents in Jawaharpora (Lam) in Aripal tehsil of Pulwama district have expressed dissatisfaction over the non-functioning of a Jio tower, which was set up in the area two years ago.

The aggrieved residents told Arising State that they have been the worst sufferers as they hardly ever get mobile network.

They said despite all the odds the  students and some working class  of the area managed to get  the JIO tower installed in the area two years back however, it never got functional despite several pleas from the residents of the village to the higher authorities .

One of the  residents has said that online classes were badly affected in absence of proper network signal in the village due to which students suffered a lot.

Pertinently ,Admin had earlier ordered e- classes through different apps like google classroom etc however, these apps require internet service.

A delegation of locals alleged that JIO tele-communication company has recently got several towers in other villages of the district functional, but have kept Lam village tower still defunct.

They demanded that administration or the telecom company take responsibility for connecting them quickly as possible. All they have to do is get the tower to become functional.

Meanwhile, the residents of Shaldraman village in Tral have expressed resentment against JIO telecom authorities and sought the functioning of the installed tower in their village as well.
