Pulwama Encounter: 02 Al-Badr militants killed, 01 civilian injured, operation continues

Srinagar, December 09: 02 militants of Al-Badr were killed and a civilian injured in an Encounter in the Tiken area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Official sources said that 02 militants have been killed in an ongoing gun battle, however, the identity of the slain militant couldn’t be established yet.

The official further said that a civilian was also injured during the exchange of firing, he was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and is said to be stable.

Earlier an official said that a joint team of Police, army’s 55 RR, and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation based on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint teams of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. Meanwhile, as precautionary measure internet services have been snapped in the Pulwama district.
